Position Overview
We are conducting a search on behalf of a well-established law firm seeking a managing partner for its Florida office. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in insurance defense litigation, including co-management of complex matters and trials, along with prior leadership experience, and/or demonstrated success managing and mentoring attorneys and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership for the office and manage attorneys and professional staff.
Take an active role in litigated matters as required, including motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Collaborate with firm leadership on forecasting, staffing needs, and long-term office growth plans.
Oversee matter staffing, case assignment, and resource allocation to ensure efficient, cost-effective client service.
Qualifications
Active admission to the Florida bar and in good standing.
10+ years of experience along with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to grow the office.
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, with strong judgment around risk, settlement, and trial strategy.
Comfort with law firm economics, including billing practices, and profitability analysis.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
