Covid 19 Attorney

Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida seeks a hardworking, compassionate Attorney to represent clients primarily on issues arising out of the Covid 19 legislation.  Coast to Coast Legal Aid represents low income individuals and families who reside in Broward County.  Many are dealing with the effect of Covid 19 on many aspects of their lives.  The ideal attorney would be able to become an expert in the Covid legislation and the processes put in place in Florida as it pertains primarily to unemployment compensation and wage issues.  They should be able to learn new areas of the law quickly and keep up with changes in the law.  While the attorney will initially focus primarily on unemployment cases they will likely be asked to assist with any type of covid-19 related case that becomes necessary.  The attorney must be able to spot and advocate for systemic changes within the system and work to become a statewide resource.  A demonstrated interest in public interest law, poverty law, and/or working with low-income clients is a plus.

The attorney must comply with all program requirements, including efficient case management, completion of timely grant reports and all mandated training.

Bilingual (Spanish or Creole) a plus.
