RISE – Staff Attorney
Legal Aid Service of Broward County is seeking two Victims Rights Enforcement Staff Attorneys. The attorneys will assist victims of crime in advocating for their civil rights in criminal cases, at both the trial and appellate levels. The attorney will be responsible for all phases of case work, representing clients in court, interviewing clients and witnesses, discovery, investigations, negotiations and legal research and will also be responsible for educating the community and victims as to the civil legal rights of victims in criminal court proceedings. The Attorney will comply with all program requirements, including efficient case management, completion of timely reports, professional development, and CLE credited and other mandated trainings.
A J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school and Florida bar membership are required. 1-3 years experience in criminal law with a working knowledge of criminal procedure and the civil rights of victims in criminal proceedings, is preferred. Excellent benefit package. Equal Opportunity Employer.
The current entry-level salary is $60,000 per year. The salary for the successful applicant may be significantly higher, based on the applicant’s years of experience.
