HOMELESS LEGAL RIGHTS PROJECT – STAFF ATTORNEY
Attorney to work with homeless clients full-time. Person hired will assist clients with various civil legal matters including family law, immigration, driver license, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and other public benefit matters. Responsibilities include interviewing clients at various homeless shelters in Broward County, carrying a full case load, attending and participating in hearings, drafting pleadings and conducting research.
Position requires excellent oral and written advocacy skills, a willingness to be an aggressive advocate for our homeless client population, and travel within Broward County. Bilingual applicants preferred.
The current entry-level salary is $60,000 per year. The salary for the successful applicant may be significantly higher, based on the applicant’s years of experience.
